In May 2026, the United States confirmed participation in Specialized Expo 2027 in Belgrade, Serbia. Expo 2027 will provide an opportunity to showcase American leadership, demonstrate excellence in sports and music, and highlight the United States as the partner of choice in the Balkans and around the globe.

Expo 2027 Belgrade’s theme is “Play for Humanity – Sport and Music for All.”

The USA Pavilion’s theme is: “Freedom to Play.” Freedom to Play connects the Specialized Expo’s overarching theme of sports and music to one of the United States’ core values. Through the USA Pavilion and its programming, visitors will experience firsthand U.S. leadership in sports, innovation, and culture.



The U.S. Department of State leads American participation in international exhibitions, advancing our nation’s public diplomacy through collaboration, innovation, and cultural exchange. Through its Expo Unit in the Office of the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy, the Department organizes U.S. participation at overseas Expos (World’s Fairs) and manages U.S. engagement with the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE).
